The Yad Ha'tishah neighborhood is located on the northeastern part of the city of Herzelia. The neighborhood spreads over an area of 250 dunam and contains about 1500 residential units in various types of residential buildings which were built mostly during the 1950's ad 1960's. Accordingly, the physical condition of a large number of the buildings is poor. In addition the neighborhood contains various areas and facilities for public needs such as schools, community center and a municipal conservatorium. The neighborhood borders Ra'anana and rests on Jerusalem road which constitutes a main urban transportation route. The Pink Line of the BRT passes through this route. Route 531 and the railway station are paved and built next to the northern wall of the neighborhood, turning its location into a strategic and contemporary one. As part of the project, a new design was made for the neighborhood, this by using urban renewal for the benefit of the residents and for their well being. The project is executed mainly by means of 'evacuation-building'. The new design offers moving into the new residential buildings, lots for public buildings, streets integrating commerce, residential and employment, and a center of employment buildings on its northwestern side next to the train station. In addition, the plan integrates a lot for assisted living, a cluster of kindergartens, a country club, community center and as such. The plan defined part of the existing construction in the neighborhood, as a texture for preservation in which public uses and employment will be incorporated.
